Farmington High School is a standards-based school intent on graduating students of high academic acheivement. Recently the school district has extended the town's focus to include a civic component, which will produce the type of graduates employers are looking for: self-motivated, responsible, communicative and innovative.
In addition to high GPAs and outstanding test scores, Farmington High School is noted for its art and music programs. Unbeatable soccer teams are a hallmark of the town and the high school's boys and girls teams are both known around the state.
Despite several years of budget cuts, Farmington High School, led by Principal Timothy Breslin, continues to offer a broad range of sports and non-academic programs.
One note-worthy fact is that 9.9% of the school's 2008 students came from homes where English was not the primary language.
